Dear Friend of Newark Catholic,

Twenty-three years ago a group of forward thinking people formed the Newark Catholic High School Foundation, an endowment fun dedicated to the ongoing financial support of the School.  Since 1985, the Foundation has given more than $910,000.00 to Newark Catholic High School.

The Foundation provides hope for future generations with annual gifts from YOU: its alumni, parents, grandparents and friends.  For the 2008 Annual Giving Campaign, please use the enclosed envelope to send in your tax-deductible donation to the NC Foundation today.  Every gift counts!  You may choose to contribute to the Foundation by check or credit card.  A thoughtful way to remember a lost loved one is by making your donation in memory of a deceased family member or classmate.  Thank you for all you do to preserve the great tradition of Newark Catholic High School.

Sincerely,

Clair Schell                                        Karen Dellner

ABOUT THE FOUNDATION

In 1984, a group of community leaders recognized a need for an endowment fund for Newark Catholic High School. The Newark Catholic High School Foundation was established to ensure the future of Catholic secondary education in our area.  A capital campaign raised over $500,000 in 1985, and over $400,000 was raised in 1989.   With annual giving campaigns and the generosity of the community, the Foundation has accumulated cash and pledges of over 2 million dollars.

Because of this generosity, The Newark Catholic High School Foundation has distributed a total of $910,000 to the School since inception.

It is the Foundation's hope that, with the continued generosity of the alumni, parents, and friends of the community, we can substantially increase cash and pledges and therefore increase our annual gift to Newark Catholic High School.

What are the goals of the Newark Catholic Foundation?

1.  To invest prudently and only distribute investment income in order to maintain the long term stability of Newark Catholic High School.

2.  To keep in mind the need to make tuition more affordable for every student who wishes to attend Newark Catholic.

<

3.  To provide grants to the Newark Catholic High Schools operating budget.

4.  To actively involve members of the community either Catholic or Non-Catholic, to ensure that an alternative source of education is always available to those who want it.

WILL YOU PLEASE HELP?  Whether you are a graduate of Newark Catholic High School, St. Francis de Sales High School, a parent, or a friend of Newark Catholic, we hope we can count on YOU to make your donation to the NC Foundation today.  Your contribution will help to defray the rising cost of tuition at NC, and afford a student the Catholic education so many or us were fortunate to receive.  Please make your tax deductible contribution of any amount payable to:

ESTATE PLANNING

Personal estate planning is the most important planning you can do for yourself, your family, your church and your school.

The objective never seems to vary - leave as much of your estate as you can to the ones you love and as little to the IRS.

Over the years, folks who do estate planning usually feel that charitable bequests should be a part of the process. Odds are that you've entertained the idea of contributing to or increasing your pledge to the Newark Catholic High School Foundation, only to have second thoughts due to a misconception that only large sums can make a difference.

If you do want to make a difference

If you care abut the future of NCHS

If you do want to honor the family name .

... Call the Foundation office at 740-344-5671. We can show you how to make a difference without huge outlays of money, and without letting Uncle Sam have it all.
